
No. 11 St. Cloud State Women’s Hockey Falls to No. 1 Wisconsin in Series Opener

Voight and Sauriol find back of the net for Huskies
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – No. 11 St. Cloud State (9-3-0, 4-2-0 WCHA) fell to No. 1 Wisconsin (11-0-0, 7-0-0 WCHA), 4-2, in game number one of a two-game series on Friday evening at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center. The Huskies took three penalties, resulting in two power play goals for the Badgers. Senior goaltender Sanni Ahola (Helsinki, Finland) made 18 saves on 22 shots faced while freshman forward Alice Sauriol (Sherbrooke, Quebec) and sophomore forward Svenja Voigt (Cologne, Germany) found the back of the net for the Huskies.
Senior forward Emma Gentry (Alpena, Mich.) was impressive in the faceoff dot, going 10 for 14 for a 71.75 percent win percentage. Junior defender Dayle Ross (Spirit River, Alberta) and fifth-year forwad Klára Hymlárová (Opava, Czech Republic) each played defensive games, blocking four combined shots and tallying nine combined shots on goal.

The Huskies will be back in action against the Badgers on Saturday at the Brooks Center with puck drop set for 1:00 p.m. CT. Game two will be aired on Big Ten Network Plus with extra coverage by St. Cloud State's Husky Productions on Fox 9 +.

- Voight scored her first goal of the season and fourth of her career when she scored at the 9:45 mark of the first period.

- Senior forward Avery Myers (Fargo, N.D.) recorded her first point of the season with an assist on Sauriol's goal.
- Graduate forward Maddy Peterson (Princeton, Minn.) recorded her first assist of the season and the first point of her SCSU career.
