
St. Cloud State Swimming and Diving Win Rochester Invite

The Huskies set three new school records and claim multiple wins at their Mid-Season Invite
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – The St. Cloud State Swim & Dive team set multiple school records and won several events at the Rochester Invite. The Huskies hosted a 9-team, three-day meet at the Rochester Recreational Center Natatorium. Both the Husky Men and Women finished first overall. Husky women took first place in 7 events while the men won 11 events.
TEAM SCORES
For the men, St. Cloud State scored 2080 points, followed by UW-Eau Claire (1509), UW-Green Bay (1142), UW-La Crosse (1086), St. Johns (984), Iowa Central (819), Carleton (798), Augustana (Divers Only – 48).
For the women, St. Clous State scored 1790 points, followed by UW-Eau Claire (1558), UW-Green Bay (1408), UW-La Crosse (1343), Minnesota State-Moorhead (805), Carleton (688), St. Benedict (666), Iowa Central (188), Augustana (Divers Only – 79), and St. Olaf (Divers Only – 56).
TOP HUSKIES
- Senior Raf Hendriks broke his own 100-yard backstroke school record on Friday in finals lowering the winning time to 47.58 (NCAA B-cut).
- Senior Emile Dost won the Men's 100-yard Individual Medley in a new school record time of 50.68. Although the 100-yard Individual Medley is not sponsored in the NCAA championship meet, this time ranks second overall in Division 2.
- The Husky men's relay team of sophomore Ben Thompson, Emile Dost, sophomore Avery Morton, and Raf Hendriks won the Men's 800-yard freestyle relay in a new school record time of 6:42.11. This record surpassed the previous record held by Jake Stoll, Owen Kusick, Neil Manning, and Alex Bryson in 2013 – the oldest record to date.
- Fifth year Jayden Porter won both the 100-yard and 200-yard breaststrokes in 54.67 and 2:02.36. His 100 time achieved the NCAA B-cut.
- Sophomore Mason Beck earned his first NCAA B-cut standard time in the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 44.98.
- Raf Hendriks clocked in a few more NCAA B-cut standard times: 200-yard backstroke winning the event in a time of 1:44.90, 500-yard freestyle 4:30.12, 200-yard freestyle 1:39.55, and the100-yard freestyle 44.94.
UP NEXT
Next, the Huskies will host South Dakota State University men at home on January 12th, and the Husky women will travel to West Fargo to compete in day two of the Dragon Invitational on January 13th.
