Avery Farrell Scores Lone Goal for the Huskies
ST. CLOUD, MINN. – No. 8 St. Cloud State (12-6-1, 7-6-1 WCHA) falls to No. 6 Minnesota-Duluth (11-5-1, 8-5-0 WCHA) Friday night in overtime at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center.
While the Huskies were able to outshoot the Bulldogs 38-27, the Bulldogs came out on top in game one by a score of 2-1. Avery Farrell would score the lone goal for the Huskies, tying the game at one a piece. Jojo Chobak would stop 25 of 27 shots faced on Friday against her former team.
Both teams picked up the pace late in the third period but neither team would budge, forcing overtime. Taylor Lind would take a penalty early in overtime. For the second straight game, the Huskies would be down a player for a majority of three-on-three play. Tova Henderson would find the back of the net on the Bulldog power play, helping her team take down St. Cloud State for the ninth straight game.
