St. Cloud State Women’s Soccer Earns 1-1 Draw with Minot State

Huskies move unbeaten streak to five games
MINOT, N.D. – St. Cloud State Women's Soccer (6-2-4, 3-1-4 NSIC) and Minot State (4-2-4, 2-2-3 NSIC) played to a 1-1 tie on Sunday afternoon in Minot, N.D. Freshman midfielder Darby Allen (Minnetonka, Minn.) drained a penalty kick in the 41st minute to tie the score at 1-1 late in the first half.
TURNING POINT
With the first half nearing an end, SCSU was push for the equalizer when redshirt freshman Gabby Zugel (Plainwell, Mich.) attempted to play a ball in the box. She was met violently by the Beaver goaltender, drawing a yellow card and penalty kick opportunity for the Huskies. Allen made the most of her opportunity, sending her shot to top right while the goalie guessed incorrectly and dove the opposite direction. The successful penalty kick knotted the score at 1-1 with under four minutes remaining in the first half.

SCSU returns home for its next two contests, hosting MSU Moorhead on Friday, Oct. 18 (6:00 p.m. CT) and Northern State on Sunday, Oct. 20 (2:00 p.m. CT).
