Winn Hired as Assistant Athletics Director of Ticketing and Promotions

Winn comes to SCSU after completing graduate assistantship at Minot State
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State University Director of Athletics Holly Schreiner announced the hire of Derrick Winn as the Assistant Athletics Director of Ticketing and Promotions on Wednesday. Winn joins the department after a two-year stint as a graduate assistant at Minot State Athletics and a four-year collegiate baseball career and Angelo State and Minot State.
"We are so excited to be adding Derrick to our Athletics staff," said Associate Athletics Director of External Operations Nora Lieser. "Derrick's experience as a student-athlete, graduate assistant and young professional make him a great fit for this role. We are looking forward to having Derrick elevate our ticket sales and marketing efforts for the Athletics Department".
"I am incredibly excited and grateful to join the SCSU Athletics family," said Winn. "Being part of collegiate athletics has always been a passion of mine, first as a player and now as an administrator. I look forward to contributing to our student-athletes' success and creating an environment where they can thrive both on and off the field!"
Winn joins the Huskies after two years at Minot State where he served as the graduate assistant for marketing, promotions and tickets. In Minot, Winn developed marketing, social media and promotional strategies for the athletic department and was the lead event management contact for men's and women's basketball games. He also played a key role in the 2024 NCAA Division II Super Region V Wrestling Tournament which was hosted by Minot State, as he oversaw the scorer's table and served as a liaison for participating teams and coaches.
In between his stint at Minot and his hiring at SCSU, Winn was a marketing and sales coordinator for BSI Service, Inc., in Wyoming. At BSI, he created and implemented marketing campaigns for the company, developed marketing materials, identified potential clients and worked closely with colleagues to ensure a high level of customer service.
Winn graduated with Cum Laude honors from Angelo State (Texas) in 2022, earning his Bachelor of Science in Psychology. He earned Dean's List honors from 2018-22 and Distinguished Scholar honors 2019-22. He then earned his Master of Science in Sports Management from Minot State in 2024. Winn played three seasons of collegiate baseball at Angelo State (Texas) and one season at Minot State. In 25 games with the Beavers in 2023, Winn his .244 with a home run, nine RBI and four stolen bases with a .983 fielding percentage.
