St. Cloud State Women’s Soccer Beats SMSU for Third Consecutive Win

Quam scores in 53rd minute to lift Huskies to victory
MARSHALL, Minn. – St. Cloud State Women's Soccer (9-2-4, 6-1-4 NSIC) earned its third consecutive win and moved its unbeaten streak to eight with a 1-0 win over Southwest Minnesota State (1-12-1, 1-8-1 NSIC) on Friday night in Marshall, Minn. Junior midfielder Brooke Quam (Lakeville, Minn.) scored the game's lone goal in the 53rd minute to lift the Huskies to victory, while redshirt junior Meriel Orham (St. Michael, Minn.) registered her sixth shutout of the season.
TURNING POINT
Despite recording 12 shots in the first half, the Huskies went into the halftime break scoreless at 0-0. The game didn't stay scoreless for long in the second half, however, as Quam scored on an assist from junior forward Ellie Primerano (St. Joseph, Mich.) to give the Huskies the lead for good.

SCSU will now face Sioux Falls in its final road game of the regular season on Sunday, Oct. 27 at 1:00 p.m. CT.
