
Late Goal Lifts St. Cloud State Women’s Soccer over Sioux Falls

Huskies win fourth consecutive game and matches unbeaten streak program record
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – St. Cloud State Women's Soccer (10-2-4, 7-1-4 NSIC) scored a goal in the 88th minute to regain the lead and seal a 2-1 victory over Sioux Falls (2-12-1, 2-8-1 NSIC) on Sunday afternoon in Sioux Falls. Sophomore forward Linsey Trapino's (Verona, Wis.) shot attempted with less than two minutes to go was deflecting off a USF player for an own goal to lift the Huskies to victory.
TURNING POINT
Sioux Falls was able to score an equalizing goal in the 75th minute off a corner kick to tie the score at 1-1. However, the Huskies were unphased with the adversity, applying pressure in the last 15 minutes of the game in search of the winning goal, which came in the second-to-last minute of the contest with the own goal.
Earlier in the game, redshirt freshman Gabby Zugel (Plainwell, Mich.) cleaned up a rebound after a Trapino shot for her first career score in the 35th minute to give SCSU a 1-0 lead.

SCSU will finish the regular season with a pair of home games, hosting Winona State on Friday, Nov. 1 and Minnesota Crookston on Thursday, Nov. 7.

- SCSU reached 10 wins for the second consecutive season and seventh season overall. It marks the first time since 2010-11 that they have recorded back-to-back season with 10+ wins.

- Zugel's first career score was her fourth point this season.
- Trapino's assist marked her 27th career point, as she moves to 20th on SCSU's all-time scoring list.
- Orham becomes the seventh Husky goalkeeper to record 10 wins in a season.
