Huskies win fourth consecutive game and matches unbeaten streak program record

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – St. Cloud State Women's Soccer (10-2-4, 7-1-4 NSIC) scored a goal in the 88^th minute to regain the lead and seal a 2-1 victory over Sioux Falls (2-12-1, 2-8-1 NSIC) on Sunday afternoon in Sioux Falls. Sophomore forward Linsey Trapino's (Verona, Wis.) shot attempted with less than two minutes to go was deflecting off a USF player for an own goal to lift the Huskies to victory.

TURNING POINT

Sioux Falls was able to score an equalizing goal in the 75^th minute off a corner kick to tie the score at 1-1. However, the Huskies were unphased with the adversity, applying pressure in the last 15 minutes of the game in search of the winning goal, which came in the second-to-last minute of the contest with the own goal.

Earlier in the game, redshirt freshman Gabby Zugel (Plainwell, Mich.) cleaned up a rebound after a Trapino shot for her first career score in the 35^th minute to give SCSU a 1-0 lead.

Trapino recorded her second assist of the season on Zugel's score.
Redshirt junior goalkeeper Meriel Orham (St. Michael, Minn.) made two saves to earn the win in net, improving to 10-2-4 on the season.

NOTES

With the win, SCSU moves to 11-1-2 all-time against Sioux Falls
The Huskies unbeaten streak moves to nine consecutive games, matching a program record that it has set for the fourth time. The previous streaks occurred during the 1995, 2011 and 2023 seasons.
The Huskies are now 5-0-4 in their last nine games and 10-1-4 in their last 12.
SCSU reached 10 wins for the second consecutive season and seventh season overall. It marks the first time since 2010-11 that they have recorded back-to-back season with 10+ wins.
SCSU led shots on goal, 9-3.
Zugel's first career score was her fourth point this season.
Trapino's assist marked her 27^th career point, as she moves to 20^th on SCSU's all-time scoring list.
Orham becomes the seventh Husky goalkeeper to record 10 wins in a season.
Orham's 0.63 GAA is still on track to be a program record at the end of the season.

SCSU will finish the regular season with a pair of home games, hosting Winona State on Friday, Nov. 1 and Minnesota Crookston on Thursday, Nov. 7.
