
St. Cloud State Women’s Soccer Secures Draw with No. 13 Minnesota State

Trapino finds the back of the net in 39th minute for the Huskies
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Women's Soccer (6-2-2, 3-1-2 NSIC) earned a 1-1 draw against No. 13 Minnesota State (6-1-3, 5-0-1 NSIC) on Sunday afternoon at Husky Stadium in St. Cloud. Sophomore forward Linsey Trapino (Verona, Wis.) found the back of the net for the Huskies in the 39th minute, helping secure the draw against the current top team in the NSIC standings.
TURNING POINT
The Huskies took a 1-0 lead in the first half after Trapino sent a laser past the Maverick goaltender from just inside the box on the right side. Redshirt freshman midfielder Kayla Allen (Holmen, Wis.) and junior midfielder Brooke Quam (Lakeville, Minn.) each recorded assists on the play. SCSU's defense was stifling once again, only allowing three shots on goal in the draw.
TOP HUSKIES
SCSU will next hit the road for a pair of NSIC tilts, facing Mary on Friday, Oct. 11 and Minot State on Sunday, Oct. 13.

- Quam's helper was her 13th career assist, as she moves to seventh all-time in SCSU history in career assists.
- Allen registered her first career assist and point with her assist on Trapino's goal.
- Four Huskies – redshirt junior goalkeeper Meriel Orham (St. Michael, Minn.), sophomore defender Ana Spaine (West Des Moines, Iowa), sophomore defender Grace Olson (West Des Moines, Iowa) and freshman defender Izzy Halunen (Woodbury, Minn.) – all played a full 90 minutes.
