St. Cloud State returned to Halenbeck Hall for their first home games of the year as they hosted Concordia-St. Paul and Upper Iowa.
Thursday's game against CSP saw both teams get off to fast starts as a dunk by Wyatt Hawks tied the game at 18 with 12:29 left in the half. From that point, the Golden Bears went on a quick 16-3 run to take a 34-21 lead. Despite the double-digit deficit, the Huskies clawed back into the game as a putback dunk by Hawks brought St. Cloud State within two points with 5:11 remaining in the half. The two teams continued to trade punches until CSP ended the half on a 10-0 run in the final 1:32 of the half to take a 59-46 lead at the break. The offensive fireworks continued into the second half as neither team slowed their pace from the first half. A inbounds steal and layup by Lee Marks III got the Huskies within eight points at the 13:03 mark of the second half, but St. Cloud State was unable to get any closer in the game as they would ultimately fall 115-104 to Concordia-St. Paul. Antwan Kimmons of CSP fell three points shy of breaking the school record for points in a single game with 43 points. The Huskies were unable to stop the Golden Bears offense as they shot 62.1% from the field and 52% from three-point range. Jamiir Allen and Nate Dahl each set new career-highs in points with 26 and 20 points respectively.
Monday's game against Upper Iowa was a defensive battle for the first five minutes of the game as a three by Anish Ramlall gave the Huskies an early 9-5 advantage. The teams went back and forth for most of the first half, but a 7-0 run over the final 1:45 of the half would give the Huskies a 33-31 advantage going into the break. St. Cloud State came out of halftime with urgency as they opened up the half with a 15-4 run, with 11 of those points coming by way of Wyatt Hawks, to take a 50-35 lead with 11:32 left in the game. With the Huskies having all of the momentum in the game, the Peacocks ramped up their pressure as they used a 17-5 run to trail 52-53 with 6:41 left in the game. Like they did most of the first half, the teams battled back and forth late in the game as St. Cloud State held a 62-59 lead with 32 seconds remaining. The Huskies came up with a big defensive stop as Kynan Philippe grabbed a key rebound where he would be fouled. Philippe stepped to the line and knocked down both free throws to extend the Huskies lead to 64-59 with 21 seconds remaining. The Peacocks would not go away quietly as they connected on a three-pointer with four seconds left. Upper Iowa would again foul the Huskies as Nate Dahl would head to the line with a chance to put away the game. Dahl iced the game with two makes at the line to give the Huskies a 66-62 lead. Upper Iowa would make a three-pointer at the buzzer, but it would not matter as the Huskies came away with their first home victory of the season with a 66-65 win. Wyatt Hawks had a career-night as he totaled his first double-double of the season with 24 points and 13 rebounds while shooting 11/15 from the field and nabbing four steals. The Huskies would regain and hold the lead again until there were 0:36 left, when sophomore guard Marcus Tomashek made a driving layup to give MTU its first lead of the second half. 12 seconds later, Jamiir Allen drove into the lane past his defender and shot a left-handed floater that bounced on the rim multiple times before dropping in, giving the Huskies a 62-61 lead.
