St. Cloud State Volleyball Ties Highest Final AVCA/TARAFLEX Division II Volleyball Poll Ranking in Program History

Huskies finish season ranked No. 5, post fifth consecutive top 10 final ranking
LEXINGTON, Ky. – St. Cloud State Volleyball tied its best final ranking in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA)/TARAFLEX Division II Poll in program history as announced by the organization on Tuesday. The Huskies were ranked No. 5, marking the fifth consecutive season finishing the season ranked inside the top 10. The Huskies were also ranked No. 5 in the 2022 final rankings.
SCSU was one of five Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) teams ranked and one of nine NCAA Central Region Teams ranked in the final top 25/receiving votes.
St. Cloud State was ranked inside the top 12 in every poll this season. The Huskies began the season at No. 10 in the preseason poll and after week four, spent the remainder of the season in the top 5. In the week seven poll, SCSU tied its best ranking in program history, No. 3, and held that spot for two weeks before rising to No. 2, the highest ranking in program history for four weeks.
The Huskies have finished each of the last five seasons ranked inside the Top 10 (No. 5 – 2024, No. 9 – 2023, No. 5 – 2022, No. 10 – 2021, No. 10 – 2019) and have finished in the Top-20/25* a total of 11 times (2024, 2023, 2022, 2021, 2019, No. 12 – 1996, No. 10 – 1995, No. 22 – 1994, No. 24 – 1993, No. 13 – 1988 and No. 19 – 1987). *Note – polls conducted from 1986-1991 included Top 20 and polls and 1992-current include Top 25; there were no polls in 2020
Under the direction of Head Coach Chad Braegelmann, the program has been ranked for 68 consecutive weeks (including 44 weeks in the top 10), dating back to the 2019 season. The Huskies have spent a total of 142 weeks in the AVCA top 20/25 Poll in program history, including 69 weeks in the top 10.
One of the program's most historic and record-breaking seasons ended on Dec. 7 after falling to No. 6 and second-seeded Central Oklahoma in a five-setter in the NCAA Tournament Central Region Championship match at Halenbeck Hall.
SCSU set numerous program records including fewest losses in a season (3), longest win streak (25), highest AVCA national poll ranking (No. 2), best conference record (18-0), best 20 match start (18-2). Sixteen of the Huskies 29 wins came against teams ranked/receiving votes in the AVCA Poll and all 18 of the Huskies sweeps came in the last 23 matches.
The Huskies made their fifth consecutive NCAA Tournament and 10th overall in program history while being selected to host an NCAA Division II Volleyball Regional Tournament for the first time in program history. St. Cloud State won two NCAA Tournament matches for the second time in program history (2022 and 1995). SCSU won its third NSIC Tournament Championship in program history, while making its fifth straight NSIC Tournament Championship match and moved to 13-2 (.867) all-time in NSIC Tournament matches. It was the first time St. Cloud State hosted the NSIC semifinals/championship match. For the third time in program history the Huskies finished conference play undefeated. SCSU also became just the third NSIC team to post a perfect conference season since 2011. St. Cloud State won its fourth regular season conference championship in program history.
