No. 12 St. Cloud State Volleyball Opens Northern Sun Play with Home Match, Trip to Crookston

Huskies host (RV) Minnesota State on Thursday, travel to play Minnesota Crookston on Saturday to begin NSIC regular season slate
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – No. 12 St. Cloud State Volleyball opens its Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference regular season action with a home match against (RV) Minnesota State (8-0, 0-0 NSIC) on Thursday, followed by a trip to play Minnesota Crookston (3-5, 0-0 NSIC) on Saturday. The Huskies (5-2, 0-0 NSIC) match with MSU on Thursday begins at 6:30 p.m. CT at Halenbeck Hall and Saturday's match against UMC is set for 2 p.m. CT at Lysaker Gymnasium.

LET'S GO POLLING
SCSU fell to No. 12 in the latest AVCA Poll after going 2-1 at the UP North Tournament in Houghton, Michigan. The Huskies beat Findlay (Ohio) and host team-No. 20 Michigan Tech and fell to Northern Michigan.
Under the direction of head coach Chad Braegelmann, the program has been ranked for 57 consecutive weeks (including 34 weeks in the Top-10), dating back to the 2019 season. The Huskies have spent a total of 131 weeks in the AVCA Top 20/25 Poll in program history, including 59 weeks in the Top 10.
SERIES HISTORY
St. Cloud State Volleyball is 60-53 all-time against Minnesota State and have won three in a row against the Mavericks. The Huskies are 22-8 all-time against Minnesota Crookston and are on an eight game win streak.
HOME SWEET HALENBECK
SCSU Volleyball has enjoyed tremendous success in the friendly confines of Halenbeck Hall, going 41-8 (.837) at home since 2019 while winning 44 of its last 51 home matches.
NSIC WEEKLY AWARDS
Fifth year outside hitter Kenzie Foley (Sergeant Bluff, Iowa) was named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the second straight week on Monday. The honor is the ninth of Foley's career and second of the season.
Foley led the NSIC in kills (67), kills/set (5.15), points (71.5) and points/set (5.50) while also averaging 3.77 digs/set at the UP North Tournament. She posted a double-double in all three matches (16 kills/13 digs, 32 kills/22 digs and 19 kills/14 digs). Her 32-kill performance sits atop the conference leaderboard for the season (by nine) and tied the program single match record/her career high. It was also her third career match sending down 30+ kills.
UP NORTH TOURNAMENT ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM
Foley and redshirt junior middle blocker Ella Thompson (Lakeville, Minn.) were named to the UP North Tournament All-Tournament Team. Thompson sent down 13+ kills in every match including a career-high 20 in a win over #20 Michigan Tech. She also continued her extremely efficient start to the season, hitting .385.
