Huskies Fall to Augustana, 1-0 in Tight Conference Contest

Augustana scores in 65th minute for game’s only score
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – St. Cloud State Women's Soccer (5-2-0, 2-1-0 NSIC) dropped a Friday afternoon contest to Augustana (3-3-1, 2-1-0 NSIC), 1-0, in Sioux Falls, S.D. The two teams played a tightly contested game, but the Vikings scored a header in the box in the 65th minute for the game's only score.
TURNING POINT
Both teams had its chances in the first half with three shots on goal apiece, but neither team found the back of the net in the game's first 45 minutes. In the second half, Augustana broke through in the 65th minute when Hallie Miller sent a pass into the box from 30 yards out that found Morgan Mancuso, who got behind the Husky defense and scored a header to make the score 1-0.

Next up, the Huskies will conclude its two-game NSIC road trip at Wayne State on Sunday, Sept. 29. First kick from Wayne is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. CT on the NSIC Network.

- Redshirt junior goalkeeper Meriel Orham (St. Michael, Minn.) recorded three saves in net.
- With the loss, SCSU dropped to 11-12-6 all-time against Augustana.
- SCSU's last win in Sioux Falls against Augustana came on Sept. 30, 2012, a 1-0 win.
- The two teams each registered four shots on goal, while SCSU led in corner kicks, 6-5.
- Five Huskies – Orham, sophomore defender Ana Spaine (West Des Moines, Iowa), sophomore defender Grace Olson (West Des Moines, Iowa), junior defender Ella Clow (Minneapolis, Minn.) and freshman defender Izzy Halunen (Woodbury, Minn.) – all played a full 90 minutes.
