SERIES HISTORY
SCSU and Minnesota Duluth will meet for the second time this season and the 45th time overall on Friday, with the Huskies holding a 16-19-9 mark against the Bulldogs. SCSU has faced UMD more than any other opponent in its program history. Earlier this season, the Huskies and Bulldogs played to a 0-0 tie with senior goalkeeper Jaylee Strickland (Columbus, Ohio) stopping all six shots in a shutout.
Against the Beavers, SCSU is 10-14-4 overall, which includes a scoreless 0-0 draw in the NSIC semifinals last season on Nov. 6, 2025, in Mankato. The Huskies would win in a shootout to advance to the NSIC Championship game.
TRAPINO KEEPS SCORING
Always known as an offensive threat, senior forward Linsey Trapino (Verona, Wis.) has continued to produce offensively to lead the way for the Huskies this season. She currently leads the team in goals (four), points (10) and shots on goal (15) while ranking fifth, seventh and fourth, respectively, in those categories among NSIC leaders.
She picked up right where she left off a season ago with a monster two-goal, five-point game in SCSU's 3-0 win over Michigan Tech on Aug. 30. Both marks were career-bests in a single game for Trapino, who recorded her first career two goal game.
A three-time All-NSIC second team selection, Trapino ranks among SCSU's top-10 all-time in career goals (24 – fourth), assists (14 – seventh), points (62 – third) and game-winning goals (10 – second). Her 10 game-winning scores are just one off from tying Alexandra Pafko (2008-10) for the all-time program lead.
STRICKLAND RETURNS WITH SAME SHARPNESS
Senior goalkeeper Jaylee Strickland (Columbus, Ohio) has posted three shutouts in seven starts this season, posting a 2-2-3 mark with 1.08 goals-against-average and .741 save percentage. In her first start of the season against Minnesota Duluth on Sept. 5, posting six saves and a shutout in a 0-0 draw. Her six saves marked the sixth time in her career she has posted six or more saves in a game. Strickland then recorded her second shutout of the season with three saves in a 1-0 victory over Minot State on Sept. 13.
The two-time All-NSIC selection's three shutouts give her 23 for her career while lowering her career goals-against-average to 0.74, with both marks already ranking as school records. She also earned her 30th career victory against Minot State, as she became the first goalkeeper in program history to reach the 30-career win mark.
