The Huskies took their first lead of the game three minutes later with Sauriol's first goal of the game. Senior forward Avery Farrell (Rogers, Minn.) forced a turnover on the backwall, and the puck came to Sauriol who skated in front of the net and went top shelf to beat the goaltender.
SCSU scored its fourth of the second period to take a 4-2 lead when Sauriol delivered a cross-ice pass into the offensive zone, springing fellow junior forward Sofianna Sundelin (Ulvila, Finland) on a 1-on-0 breakaway. Sundelin went forehand, backhand before putting the puck between the goalie's legs.
With just under five minutes left in the third period, Farrell won an offensive zone faceoff and redshirt sophomore defender Sydney Bryant (Traverse City, Mich.) picked up the puck, skated toward the middle of the ice and sent in a wrister through traffic from just inside the blueline that found the back of the net.
The final goal for the Huskies came 90 seconds later with another Quebec-to-Quebec connection when freshman defender Maélie Pion (Sherbrooke, Quebec) sent a quick transition pass from deep in the defensive zone to Sauriol who was skating through two BSU defenders at the center line.
