Huskies drop NSIC contest on a rainy night in Aberdeen

ABERDEEN, S.D. – St. Cloud State Women's Soccer (2-2-2, 1-1-1 NSIC) was unable to find the back of the net in a 2-0 setback to Northern State (3-1-1, 2-0-1 NSIC) on Friday night in Aberdeen, S.D. In a rainy night, the Wolves were able to score in the 19^th and 55^th minutes of the game.

TURNING POINT

Northern State first grabbed the lead when Chloe Voss made a move around a Husky defender and sent the ball into the box where Jaylee Hofer was there to finish the play for the score. A similar play from Voss in the second half on the other side of the field extended the lead to 2-0 in the 55^th minute.

TOP HUSKIES

Senior forward Linsey Trapino (Verona, Wis.) led the Huskies with two shots on goal.
Junior midfielder Darby Allen (Minnetonka, Minn.) and junior forward Delaney Weier (Madison, Wis.) also had one shot on goal.

NOTES

SCSU moves to 14-5-3 all-time against Northern State as the Huskies' three-game winning streak against the Wolves was snapped.
The Huskies lead the corner kick opportunities (5-3), while the Wolves had the edge in shots on goal (6-4).
Three Huskies, senior midfielder Cady Compton (Ankeny, Minn.), junior defender Izzy Halunen (Woodbury, Minn.) and senior forward Linsey Trapino (Verona, Wis.) played a full 90 minutes in the game.

SCSU will continues its weekend road trip with a Sunday afternoon match against Jamestown, with first kick scheduled for 12:00 p.m. CT.
