Chad Welk was promoted to the Associate Head Coach of the men's basketball team entering the 2019-20 season. Prior to that time, Welk helped the Huskies make back-to-back appearances in the NCAA Regional and NSIC Tournament. Under his tutelage, former standout Sean Smith broke the program records for single-game, single-season and career blocks and was named the NSIC Defensive Player of the Year in 2018-19.
