2010-11: Voted the team’s Most Improved Player for the 2010-11 stint … Dished out lone assist of season against Ohio State on Jan. 29 … Fired off a season-best five shots on goal against Northeastern University on Jan. 2, all in part of the Easton Holiday Showcase … 7/14 PIM … All-WCHA Academic winner.
2009-10: Appeared in 20 games for St. Cloud State during her rookie season in 2009-10 … Fired off her first career shot at Minnesota Duluth on Oct. 11 … Was assessed her first career penalty in that same game against the Bulldogs … Was 2-4 in PIM … Her plus/minus was -2 … Totaled two shots on the season.
Before SCSU: Originally from Edina, Sitek has been coached by Laura Slominski, who is a former assistant coach from St. Cloud State … A four-time letterwinner in hockey, Sitek was named to the 2009 All-Classic Lake Conference team, and also garnered Honorable Mention All-Conference nods twice in her prep career … Captain of her team her senior season, Sitek played an important role in leading her team to the 2009 Minnesota State Tournament and a third place finish.
Personal: The daughter of Jerry and Karla Sitek, Ellie is majoring in marketing at St. Cloud State.
