Hodous Seals 2-1 Victory Over Wayne State

St. Cloud, Minn. - The St. Cloud State University women's soccer team was at home again Sunday hosting the Wayne State (Neb.) Wildcats. With a 2-1 victory over the Wildcats, the Huskies recorded their first conference weekend sweep of the season.
Coming off their first conference win the Huskies were looking to grab another against Wayne State Sunday to keep the momentum going.
The Wildcats took the first lead of the game 1-0 over the Huskies at the 8:50 mark as Macy Hagen shot from about 20 yards out and into the right side of the net for the unassisted goal.
St. Cloud was not going to go down easy as they kept battling and at the 31:48 mark it was sophomore Bailly Drayton tying the game up 1-1 on one of many corner kicks for the Huskies. Kara Dahmen was credited with the assist as she was on the corner kick putting it right into play for Drayton.
Going into halftime Wayne State was outshooting the Huskies by one shot, seven to six.
The game would stay tied 1-1 until the 77:31 mark of the game when senior Becca Hodous found the back of the net pulling the goalie out and shooting into the right side taking a 2-1 lead. The assist was charted to Dahmen, for her second assist of the game.
The Huskies held on to their 2-1 lead outshooting Wayne State by a final margin of 19 to 10, with 13 coming in the second half.
In the net for St. Cloud was Brittany Plombon as she recorded four saves, while the Wildcats' Kylie Comba tallied five. With the win Plombon moves her record to 5-4-1 on the season.
St. Cloud State (5-4-1, 2-4-1 NSIC) will be back in action October 12-13 as they take to the road for a matchup against the University of Mary and Minot State University respectively. Both games are slated for 1 p.m. start times.
