SCSU Soccer Travels to SMSU and Sioux Falls

St. Cloud, Minn. - The St. Cloud State University women's soccer team is hitting the road this weekend as they travel to Southwest Minnesota State on Saturday and the University of Sioux Falls (S.D.) on Sunday. Game times are slated for 1 p.m. both days.
SCSU Soccer will be back at home on October 4 & 6 as they host Augustana College (S.D.) Friday and Wayne State College Sunday in Husky Stadium. Friday's game is set to start at 3 p.m. while Sunday's will be a 1 p.m. start time.
Tickets for all SCSU Soccer home games can be purchased at the gate the day of the event or you can purchase in advance by going to www.scsutickets.com. Attention SCSU students! All SCSU students with a valid St. Cloud State student ID card will be admitted FREE to all regular season Husky home soccer games in 2013. Just show your ID card at the gate and get in free...it is that easy!
- St. Cloud State goes into this weekend's games holding a 3-3 overall record and a 0-3 record in the NSIC.
- Southwest Minnesota State currently sits with a 6-0 overall and a 3-0 NSIC record, while Sioux Falls has a 0-6 overall and a 0-3 NSIC record.
- The Huskies lead the all-time series record against SMSU with a 13-5-1 record, since their first match in 1996.
- St. Cloud also leads the all-time series against their other weekend opponent USF. SCSU is 3-0 in the series since their first meeting in 2011.
- SCSUÂ played two games at home this past weekend hosting Winona State on Saturday and Upper Iowa on Sunday.
- The first half of the game was scoreless against the Warriors and it was not until the 49:25 mark of the game when Winona took the first lead.
- Later in the half though the Huskies tied the game up 1-1 as senior Kara Dahmen set-up to shoot a corner kick at the 60:35 mark and ended up curving it right into the top of the net for the tying goal.
- The Huskies held on sending the game into double overtime but the Warriors were quick to score in the second overtime for the 2-1 victory over St. Cloud.
- Upper Iowa proved to be too much for the Huskies as they fell by a final score of 5-1.
- Junior Taige Thoreson scored her first goal of the season at the 47:21 mark against Upper Iowa to make it a 3-1 game with the assist going to freshman Skye Finley.
- Upper Iowa continued to score in the second half as the Huskies fell at home 5-1.
- Sophomore Brittany Plombon was in goal for the Huskies last weekend recording 19 saves in two games.
