SCSU Women's Hockey Fall Short Against The University of North Dakota

Grand Forks, ND—The St. Cloud State Women's hockey team (5-10-1-, 2-6-1 WCHA) falls to the University of North Dakota (6-7-2, 5-6-2 WCHA) 6-1 on Saturday Nov. 29 at the Ralph Engelstad Arena.
UND opened up scoring early in the first period, when Gracen Hirschey, was fed a pass in the slot and put a one-time shot past SCSU goaltender, Julie Friend. North Dakota scored four more goals before SCSU was able to put themselves on the board. The Huskies goal came late in the third, when junior defender, Lexi Slattery, scored her fourth goal of the season by putting the puck in the back of the net to end a scrum in the goal crease. UND responded with one more quick goal to end the game 6-1.
Between the pipes was senior goaltender Julie Friend. She saw double the shots UND's goaltender, Shelby Amsley-Benzie, saw with the shots reading 40-20 for UND. With the addition of today's loss, Friend's record moves to 4-6-0, 2-3-0 WCHA.
