SCSU Falls 4-1 to #9 Ranked Bemidji Beavers

St. Cloud, Minn---The St. Cloud State Huskies (5-14-1, 2-10-1 WCHA) were defeated 4-1 by the #9 ranked Bemidji State Beavers (11-5-1, 7-5-1 WCHA), on Friday, Dec. 12, at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center.
St. Cloud State opened up scoring when sophomore forward, Kelsey Saelens, found the back of the net with just over halfway to play in the first period. Saelens tallies her second goal of the season, with assists going to junior, Molly Illikainen, getting her fifth, and freshman Emma Turbyville, who gets her first point in the red and white. Bemidji responded with 50 seconds left to play in the first, sending the game tied into the second period tied 1-1.
Bemidji scored a quick goal in the second period, extending their lead to 2-1. They followed up with two more in the third, to end the game with a 4-1 victory over the Huskies.
Both goaltenders were faced with 29 shots on net for a total of 58 shots in the game.
The series continues at 3:07pm on Saturday, Dec. 13th back at the HBNHC.
