Minnesota Gophers Blank The St. Cloud State Huskies

St. Cloud, Minn. --- The St. Cloud State Huskies (6-19-1, 3-13-1 WCHA) were blanked by the Minnesota Gophers (22-1-3, 14-1-3 WCHA) 4-0 on Jan. 23, 2015.
The Gophers came out of the gate scoring just under four minutes into the game. SCSU went down a player when Audrey Hanmer was sent to the box for a tripping penalty. Minnesota capitalized, scoring the only power play goal of the game. The Gophers extended their lead with three minutes left in the first, sending the game 3-0 going into the first intermission.
With just a minute left in the game, the Gophers put one more in making the final score 4-0.
Senior goaltender, Julie Friend, faced the Gophers for the third time this season, having the best outcome she had against them this year. She contained the Gophers by making 48 saves of the 52 recorded shots on goal.
The series continues Jan. 24 at 3:07 pm at the HBNHC. The game will also be on FSN plus.
