St. Cloud, Minn.---Despite a strong senior night performance, St. Cloud State (6-25-1, 3-19-1 WCHA) was unable to contain the University of North Dakota (18-11-3, 14-9-3 WCHA) on Sat. Feb. 14.
The University of North Dakota carried their energy from Friday night's win, scoring the first goal of the game on a power play, with 1:00 minute left in the first period.
SCSU regained momentum as the second period unfolded, controlling the puck and winning face-off, but UND found a way to put one past senior goaltender Julie Friend, with just minutes remaining in the period.
St. Cloud State dominated puck control in the third period but could not find the back of the net, leaving the score 2-0 for North Dakota.
Julie Friend played in her last home game of her career and faced 38 shots from the Univeristy of North Dakota.
The Huskies will play at home on Monday night against the Minnesota State. Puck drops at 7:07 pm.
