The St. Cloud State Huskies Come Up Short Against the Bemidji State Beavers

Bemidji, Minn.--- The St. Cloud State Huskies (6-23-1, 3-19-1 WCHA) were unable to clinch the game two win against the Bemidji State Beavers (16-13-1, 11-12-1 WCHA) on Jan. 7 2015.

The Huskies found themselves short-handed four times in the first period, but shut down the Beavers with their strong defensive effort. As the second period unfolded, SCSU was on the power play, but gave up a scoring opportunity to the Beavers, of which they capitalized on.

The third period brought a couple more penalties for both teams, but strong defense prevailed and the game was left at 1-0.

Julie Friend was between the pipes for the Huskies facing 26 shots to St. Cloud's 14 attempts.

The Huskies return home on Feb. 13-14 for a conference series against North Dakota.
