SCSU's Pat Dolan named NCBWA DII Coach of the Year

Gregory, Jurgella, Miks, Lieser and Loxtercamp named All-Americans
St. Cloud State University head coach Pat Dolan has been selected as the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Division II Coach of the Year for 2015. Â Dolan was joined in the NCBWA spotlight by SCSU junior pitcher Reese Gregory, who was named to the associations's All-America First Team as a starting pitcher.
SCSU senior catcher Mike Jurgella (Plover, Wisc./Pacelli H.S.) and freshman pitcher Sheldon Miks (Shakopee, Minn./H.S.) were both named to the NCBWA Division II All-America second team, while teammates junior shortstop Kyle Lieser (St. Martin, Minn./Albany H.S.) and senior outfielder Eric Loxtercamp (Cold Spring, Minn./ROCORI H.S.) were both named to the NCBWA Division II All-America squad as Honorable Mention selections.
The NSIC and Central Region Coach of the Year, Dolan led the Huskies to a school record 54 victories in 2015 (54-5). Â SCSU won the NSIC regular season crown with a 31-3 record and also claimed top honors at the 2015 NSIC tournament with a 4-0 record. Â The top seed at the recent 2015 NCAA Divison II Central Region tournament, SCSU finished as the runner-up this spring at the tournament. Â SCSU has placed as the runner-up at the NCAA regional tournament four times since 2010 and this also marked the fifth trip to the NCAA tournament for the Huskies since 2010.
In his eighth season with the Huskies, Dolan now owns a career record of 323-111-1 at SCSU. Â The Huskies have won 40-or-more games four times since 2010 under Dolan's direction.
A three-time All-American, Gregory was the NSIC and NCBWA Central Region pitcher of the year award winner in 2015. Â A first team All-NSIC pick, Gregory set a school record with 13 wins on the mound for SCSU this spring. Â He notched a 1.49 ERA that included 92 strikeouts and just 19 walks allowed in 84.2 innings of work. Â He had six saves for SCSU and was selected to the 2015 NCAA DII Central Region All-Tournament team. Â Gregory currently owns the team career record with 23 saves since 2013.
Jurgella was named the NSIC and NCBWA Central Region player of the year in 2015. Â He batted .399 this spring and had 63 runs, 85 hits, 16 doubles, two triples and 14 homers for the Huskies. Â He departs the campus with a .362 career batting average, 26 homers, 53 doubles, 144 runs and 226 hits. Â A three-time NSIC All-Academic Award winner, Jurgella was named a Capital One CoSIDA Academic All-America Division II First Team pick in 2014. Â He was also a 2015 All-NSIC First Team pick and concensus All-Region pick.
The NSIC Freshman of the Year and a first team pick for the All-NSIC and All-Region teams this spring, Miks charted a 1.15 ERA and a 10-2 record. Â He had 59 strikeouts and four shutouts during his first year at SCSU.
Lieser and Loxtercamp were both named to the 2015 All-NSIC and All-Region team. Â Lieser batted .405 with three homers, 64 hits and 34 runs scored. Â He also had 10 doubles for SCSU in 2015. Â
Loxtercamp gained All-NSIC honors for the second consecutive season and All-NSIC Academic honors for the third consecutive season in 2015. Â He batted .378 with 36 RBIs, 20 doubles, 95 hits, 70 runs scored, three triples and four homers as a senior. Â In his career, Loxtercamp ranks second in the team charts with 741 at bats, 15 triples and 257 hits. Â He also had 183 career runs scored, 50 doubles and 47 walks.
