St. Cloud State men's golf places second at NSIC Spring Preview

The St. Cloud State University men's golf team captured second place at the 2016 NSIC Spring Preview tournament, which was held at the Paradise Pointe Golf Course (Outlaw Course) in Smithville, Mo. on March 25-26.

The Huskies tallied a team total of 597 to finish second, while Winona State won the title with a score of 595. SCSU finished with rounds of 301 in the first day and 296 on the second day of competition.

SCSU's Troy Ryynanen led the Huskies with a second place finish at 145 (75-70). Ryynanen's second day total of 70 was the lowest 18-hole score registeted during the tournament. Winona State's Michael Schmitz won the tournament medalist honors with a tally of 144 (73-71).

Chase Hahne placed third overall at 148 (71-77), while Jack Barnhart was tied for 8th place with a score of 150 (76-74). SCSU's David Scharenbroich tied for 19th place at 155 (80-75) and Riley Duncanson was tied for 36th at 162 (79-83). The remainder of SCSU's scores are listed below.
