The St. Cloud State University men's and women's swimming and diving teams will compete at the 2017 Carleton College Cows, Colleges and Contentment Classic on Oct. 28. The meet will be held in Northfield, Minn. This is an open style invitational and no teams scores will be kept at the meet. The Carleton meet will feature many of the regions top NCAA swimming and diving programs.

SCSU SWIM AND DIVE HEADLINES:
SCSU sophomore Rebekah Stone, a resident of nearby Foley, Minn. and grad of Foley High School, was selected as the NSIC Diver of the Week on Oct. 24. She won the league honors for her work in the weekend dual meets against Northern State, Minnesota State Moorhead and Northern Michigan. Stone placed first in the 1M diving event on Friday, Oct. 20 at the St. Cloud Quad and also placed third in the 3M event with a score of 214.80 on Friday, Oct. 20. In action on Oct. 21, Stone placed placed 4th in the 1M diving at 221.05 and was 8th in the 3M event at 212.80. She is the second SCSU athlete to gain NSIC weekly honors in 2017-18. Andrea Bryson was named the NSIC Swimmer of the Week for Oct. 2-8.

The SCSU women's team currently owns a 4-4 overall record and the Huskies are 2-0 in action against NSIC teams this season.
In action on Oct. 20, the SCSU women's team scored a 194-43 win over NSU and an 148.50-94.50 win over MSUM. SCSU lost a 153.50-89.50 match against Northern Michigan. In men's competition, SCSU lost to NMU by a 163.50-79.50 margin. The weekend was completed on Oct. 21 with the women's team picking up to more wins over NSU and MSU. SCSU scored an 188-54 win over MSUM and a 190-47 win over NSU in dual meet action. The Huskies lost by a 155.50-87.50 margin to NMU and the SCSU men's team lost by a score of 147.50-95.50 to NMU.
On Saturday, SCSU's Jen Thompson won the 50 free in women's competition and Brian Burke was the top placer in the 50 free men's race. Sufficool returned to gain a top spot in both the 1M and 3M events for the men on Saturday and Burke won the 100 butterfly event. Triston Ferguson placed first on Saturday in the men's 100 freestyle, while Bryson won the women's 500 free.
Individually, SCSU's Andrea Bryson gained a first place finish in the 200 free and Rebekah Stonewon the 1M diving on Friday. David Sufficool also won top honors in the 1M diving for the Huskies and he also picked in a Friday first in the 3M event. SCSU's 200 free relay squad of Jennifer Thompson, Chelsea Gehrke, Devin Cicha and Bryson won the top spot on Friday.
