St. Cloud State soccer charts 0-0 draw against Minnesota Crookston

The St. Cloud State University soccer team (8-7-2, 6-6-2 NSIC) battled to a double overtime 0-0 tie against Minnesota Crookston (0-13-3, 0-11-3 NSIC) on a cold and windy Friday (Oct. 27) night at Husky Stadium in St. Cloud, Minn.
The game's tempo was dominated exclusively by St. Cloud State from start to finish. Â On the evening, the Huskies outshot the Golden Eagles 36-2, which included a 10-0 margin in the first half and a 16-1 lead in shots in the second half. Â The Huskies also combined to outshoot UMC 10-1 in the two OT sessions.
UMC keeper Olivia Puttin made 13 saves in the contest to keep the Huskies off the scoreboard.  Sarah Benhart had six shots and Maria Kass added five shots to lead SCSU on the attack, while Hannah Marion, Kelli Santo Paulo and Kaitlyn Dziubinski all had four shots apiece.
SCSUÂ goalkeeper Kelsey Christian (7-6-2) earned the shutout with 110:00 minutes played in the nets for the Huskies. Â This was her fifth shutout of the season and her goals against average falls to 0.90 on the season with the tie. Â Of note, Christian ranks fourth in the team season records with her 0.90 GAA rate.
The Huskies will complete their 2017 regular season on Sunday, Oct. 29 with a 1 p.m. match at Bemidji State University in Bemidji, Minn.
