A ten-run first inning propelled the Beavers past SCSU in the double-elimination tournament,

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - After falling to #2 seed Augustana 5-2 in their first game of the day, the St. Cloud State baseball team's NSIC Tournament run was ended in a 13-6 loss to #1 seed, Minot State.
The Beavers posted a ten run first inning to take an early lead and the momentum for the duration of the game.
Minot State scored the ten runs on four hits, two walks and one error. MSU would not score again until a three-run homerun in the sixth gave the Beavers a 13-3 lead.

St. Cloud State out-hit the Beavers, 13-8 and stranded 11 runners in the contest. Caeden Harris and Reid Conlee each recorded two RBI's on homers in the fourth and eighth innings.

SCSU out-scored MSU, 6-3 after the Beavers' ten-run start.
Aaron Hammann was the pitcher of record for SCSU after allowing five earned runs on two hits and two walks.
Matthew Osterberg provided an excellent relief effort, going five complete innings and only allowing three earned runs on five hits while striking out six.
Sheldon Miks provided 1.2 innings of work in relief and recorded two strikeouts.
Trevor Koenig tossed the last inning and tallied two strikeouts in his scoreless outing.

St. Cloud State will find out on Sunday, May 13 at 9 PM during the NCAA's selection show if they will advance to the NCAA Central Region Tournament at a spot to be determined.
