#14 St. Cloud State Takes Two of Three from SMSU, Concludes Regular Season 38-10.

SCSU will play in the NSIC Tournament May 8-11 at the MAC in St. Cloud.
After play was suspended due to inclement weather conditions on Friday afternoon, game one was continued on Saturday at 11 AM in the top of the fifth inning. SCSU led SMSU 12-1 when play was resumed on Saturday, then rolled to an 18-6 victory.
Southwest Minnesota State took game two 5-3, before SCSU was able to bounce back for a 5-4 victory in the series finale.
Dylan Haskamp's go-ahead single in the top of the seventh broke a 4-4 tie in game three to give SCSU their 38th victory of the regular season.
Blake Flint improved to 7-2 after a stellar four innings of work before being relieved by Trevor Koenig, Zach Iten and Kyle Boser who each tossed an inning in relief for SCSU in game one.
Sheldon Miks was the pitcher of record in game two while Shannon Ahern and Matt Butler put the Mustangs away in game three. Ahern gave SCSU three strong innings before Butler posted four shutout frames to earn his second career win.
Toran Shahidi had a productive weekend at the plate, going 5-8 with three homeruns, seven RBI's, one double and two hit by pitches. Of note, Shahidi recorded two homers with one being a grand slam in game one of the series.
St. Cloud State will play in the NSIC Tournament May 8-11 which will be hosted at Joe Faber Field and Dick Putz Field in St. Cloud. Further updates may be found on scsuhuskies.com.
