St. Cloud State Baseball head coach Pat Dolan announced the signing of nine new Huskies signees following last week's National Letter of Intent signing day. Owen Anderson, Teyghan Hovland, Brayden Jacobson, Kole Krier, Ethan Navratil, Matt Perry, Kenny Schultz, Sawyer Smith and Easton Vertz will be joining the Huskies beginning in the fall of 2021.
"We are extremely excited about the nine high school seniors that will become Huskies next year!" said Dolan, "What a challenging year for them not being able to play much and showcase their skills. Each of our incoming student-athletes are high-quality students that take pride in their academics and will be tremendous additions to our program"
"Our game plan early on was to get back to our grassroots of recruiting the Midwest and also recruit middle infielders and pitchers, which we were short on in our younger classes," Dolan said, "We accomplished both of these goals!"
Each of the nine signees are currently high school seniors, with five from Wisconsin, three Minnesota products and one North Dakota import.
"Our last two high school recruiting classes are probably our top-two classes in the last ten-plus years! We have some serious talent in these two classes that we are looking forward to having them for the next four or five years!" Dolan continued.
"A special thanks to our coaching staff for all their help," said Dolan, "Doc, Kassidy and Casey all played integral roles in the signing of these nine young men. It's really a collaborative effort between our coaching staff and admissions, especially Mike Coonen and Hannah Mikels for all of their assistance. We want to give major props to our athletic administrative staff—our compliance director Holley Schreiner and Director of Athletics Heather Weems—for meeting and spending time with the recruits during their official visits. Huskies helping Huskies at its best!"

A power arm from the Wisconsin border, Anderson has been a mainstay on coach Brent Blegen's pitching staff at Hudson High School. He was named All-Conference as a sophomore and also was voted Team Best Pitcher. The son of Jason and Juli Anderson, Owen plans on majoring in Sports Medicine.
"I just really love the culture of winning they have at SCSU, and I feel like they will give me the necessary tools and coaching to become the best player I can be," said Anderson.
"Off the field Owen is a polite very respectful young man with an endearing goofy side that can keep things loose," said Hudson High School head coach Brent Blegen, "Once he steps on a field though he is an absolute bulldog. He just loves to compete; anytime, anywhere and against anyone. Owen is definitely someone you want to go to battle with."
"Owen is a strike-throwing 'bulldog' type of pitcher," said Dolan, "We love the way he attacks hitters and his command on the mound."
