SCSU baseball falls to Minnesota State in Florida

The St. Cloud State University (9-4, 0-0 NSIC) lost a 7-1 decision against Minnesota State University, Mankato (5-3) on Sunday, March 8. This non-conference game between these two NSIC rivals was played at the Lake Myrtle Park baseball complex in Florida. The Huskies will continue its series of games during Spring Break on March 10 against West Chester University.
The Huskies opened the game's scoring against MSU with a solo run in the third inning as Kyle Rodriguez scored on an infield grounder hit by Lenny Walker. MSU rallied in the fifth inning with five runs and then added runs in the eighth and ninth innings to gain the win.
MSU outhit the Huskies in the contest 13-2 as Matt Osterberg took the loss for SCSU with 10 strikeouts in eight innings pitched. Rodrigez and Walker posted the two hits for SCSU in the game.
