ST. CLOUD, MINN. - The St. Cloud State University athletics department announced updates to the fan attendance policy. The Huskies will allow family members of St. Cloud State and visiting student-athletes to attend games during the 2020-21 winter sports season beginning with events scheduled for Thursday, January 28.
"St. Cloud State has managed well our COVID protocols as students have returned to campus to begin classes in spring semester," said Heather Weems, Director of Athletics. "We have confidence that we can safely include families at our events and honor the important role they play in our student-athletes' lives as supporters. We look forward to having some friendly faces in the stands and ask them to cheer loud on behalf of all our fans."
Attendance will be limited to no more than 150 people, per Minnesota Department of Health guidelines, and will apply to family members of both the home and visiting teams. Ticket allocations will be established based upon conference guidelines and communicated with home and visiting teams. Ticket pass lists will be managed by the SCSU ticket office and attendance will be reviewed per facility and event. All communications and protocols will be sent from the University to attending family members at least 24 hours prior to competition. The policy itself will go into effect for Huskies home events beginning January 28.
Please note that some institutions in the Minnesota State system chose not to adopt this policy. Such decisions were made based on what was appropriate for each campus and the safety of students and families. St. Cloud State will continue to monitor the landscape and update fans if further changes are made to the attendance policy in the upcoming weeks.
