
Men’s basketball to host season opening GAC/NSIC Crossover

ST. CLOUD, MINN. - The St. Cloud State University men's basketball team is (finally) back in action. It's been nearly nine months since the Huskies last played in Halenbeck Hall, and they are about to return in style. After playing zero nonconference games in 2020-21, St. Cloud State will kick off the season by hosting the GAC/NSIC Crossover Tournament in Halenbeck Hall November 12-13.
In addition to the Huskies, three teams will flock to St. Cloud, Minnesota for the season opening tournament, including Ouachita Baptist, Harding and conference foe Minot State. St. Cloud State will host Ouachita Baptist in its season opener at 7:00 p.m. CT on Friday, November 12 before closing the weekend with a 5:00 p.m. CT tip on Saturday against the Bison.
The Beavers and Bison will kick off the GAC/NSIC Crossover at 5:00 p.m. CT on Friday. Minot State will also face the Tigers at 3:00 p.m. CT on Saturday. Tickets are $15 for reserved chair backs and $10 for reserved bench seats. Youth tickets for children aged 3-18 are $5, while children under the age of two and all St. Cloud State students get in FREE with a valid student ID. There will be no all-tournament passes for the GAC/NSIC Crossover at this time.
The Huskies will also honor former standout Dan Hagen by retiring his jersey prior to Friday's contest against Ouachita Baptist. The ceremony will start at approximately 6:30 p.m. CT. On Saturday, St. Cloud State will honor its alumni, including the 1985-86, 1986-87 and 1987-88 NCC Championship teams.

Appeared in 10 games as a freshman in 2020-21; scored eight total points with three rebounds, four assists and three steals during the season; enjoys listening to music and watching movies on off-days.

Served as the Huskies starting point guard in 2020-21; appeared in all 17 games and made 14 starts; scored 139 points to average 8.2 a game; led SCSU in assists (92) and ranked top-3 in the NSIC in the category.
12 - Cameron Alexander (Sr.; Hazelhurst, Mississippi / Hazelhurst)
Appeared in four games off the bench in 2020-21; accounting major at St. Cloud State; played collegiate basketball at Piedmont before transferring in 2020.
