St. Cloud State Baseball knocked out of NSIC Championships Second Round with 6-1 loss to Minnesota-Crookston

St. Cloud State Baseball (22-14, 18-9 NSIC) fell 6-1 at the hands of Minnesota-Crookston (26-11, 18-10 NSIC) in the first elimination game of the 2021 NSIC Baseball Championships Second Round on Thursday, concluding their conference tournament run.
"Obviously our results the last two days weren't what we expected or wanted especially after holding the six-seed for the NCAA Regionals," said head coach Pat Dolan, "But I'm really proud of how the guys competed the entire year. It really was a great group of young men to coach!"
The Huskies' lone run came in the bottom of the ninth as senior Matt Quade (0-for-3, HBP, R) was hit by a pitch and moved to third on a single off the bat of fellow senior Lenny Walker (2-for-4). Tate Wallat (3-for-4, RBI) followed by poking a two-strike RBI single into left-center field, plating Quade and recording his third hit of the day.
Jack Habeck delivered 3.0 shutout innings of relief for the Huskies, allowing just two baserunners on a hit and a walk while striking out three.
Wallat's three-hit performance capped off a tremendous NSIC Tournament showing, going 4-for-6 over the two games with a pair of walks, a run scored and one driven in.
