Dominique Buechel earns Second Team All-American honors at NCAA Outdoor Championships

St. Cloud State Women's Track & Field thrower Dominique Buechel capped off her extraordinary career with a ninth-place Discus finish at the 2021 NCAA Outdoor Championships, earning Second Team All-American status.

"I am very happy for Dom," said head coach Sam Kettenhofen, "She had an incredible outdoor season and continued it this weekend by making the final at the NCAA Championships! It is an excellent showing for her. Obviously, she was hoping for more but finishing 9th and earning All-American honors this weekend is a big accomplishment. I am very proud of her!"

Buechel landed ninth in the Championships with a mark of 46.63m on her final throw of the Finals. She becomes SCSU's second All-American this year, following Emelia Burris' All-American finish in the Indoor Long Jump, and is the Huskies' first Outdoor All-American since Sam Sunstrom did so in the 2017 10,000 Meter Run.
