
Roberts and Matchinsky Named Wolters Kluwer Athletes of the Month

Roberts averaged 21.0 points and 9.0 rebounds per game, Matchinsky was named NSIC Diver of the Week
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Athletics recognized men's basketball's Anthony Roberts (Chicago, Ill.) and women's swim & dive's Meredith Matchinsky (St. Cloud, Minn.) as the December Wolters Kluwer Athletes of the Month on Tuesday. Roberts averaged 21.0 points and 9.0 rebounds per game while leading the Huskies to 4-2 mark in December, while Matchinsky led the Huskies to the top D-II finish at the Rochester Invite following podium finishes in the 1-meter and 3-meter dives.
ANTHONY ROBERTS
Roberts played a key role in the Huskies success in the month of December, as he led the team to a 4-2 record in NSIC play. The junior guard averaged a team-leading 21.0 points per game and 9.0 rebounds during the month while shooting .462 (42-91) from the floor. In total, Roberts scored double-digits points in all six of St. Cloud State's games in December and scored 20+ points three times during the month. He additionally scored his 1000th career point in the Huskies 84-80 win over Northern State on December 18, becoming the 44th player in program history to reach the milestone.
MEREDITH MATCHINSKY
Matchinsky was named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Diver of the Week on Dec. 7 after helping the Huskies earn a second-place finish at the Rochester Invite (Dec. 3-5). The Huskies women scored 901.5 points at the meet, only trailing D-I Nebraska Omaha, who finished with 987 points. Matchinsky won the 3-meter dive with a score of 462.5 and placing second in the 1-meter dive with a score of 435.05 to earn NSIC Diver of the Week honors for the second time this season.
In November, Matchinsky qualified for the NCAA Championships with a first-place finish in the 3-meter dive with a scored of 461.15 at the Cows, Colleges and Contentment Classic.
