Huskies look to move up the NSIC standings against Minnesota State Mankato and Concordia St. Paul
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Women's Soccer (4-4-3, 3-2-3 NSIC) continues a four-game homestand this weekend with a pair of Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) matches at Husky Stadium. The Huskies will host Minnesota State Mankato (8-1-2, 6-0-2 NSIC) on Friday, Oct. 7 at 6:00 p.m. CT and Concordia St. Paul (5-4-2, 5-2-1 NSIC) on Sunday, Oct. 9 at 1:00 p.m. CT.

Last week, the Huskies went 1-0-1 with a 3-0 victory over Minnesota Crookston on Friday and a 0-0 tie against Bemidji State on Sunday. Redshirt sophomore Evie Kohn (West Lakeland, Minn.) was named NSIC Goalkeeper of the Week after playing all 180 minutes last week. Kohn made seven saves in the two games, leading the Huskies to a 1-0-1 mark on the week against the Golden Eagles and Beavers. Kohn has now recorded three consecutive shutouts and four overall this season and ranks fifth in shutouts (five) and goals against average (.865) in the NSIC. Through a season and a half, Kohn has recorded eight career shutouts, which ranks seventh all-time in program history.

This weekend could be a good weekend to build momentum for the Huskies, as St. Cloud State is chasing both the Mavericks and Golden Bears in the NSIC standings. Minnesota State Mankato currently sits atop the conference at 6-0-2 and is 4-0-1 in its last five matches, while Concordia St. Paul is in fourth place with a 5-2-1 mark in conference play. The Huskies are currently in a three-way tie for eighth place, the final playoff spot for the NSIC Tournament, with an NSIC record of 3-2-3.
