St. Cloud State Baseball Explodes Offensively in Win over U-Mary

Riola homers twice, Ahern throws 5 IP in 13-3 rout of Marauders
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – A new look lineup for St. Cloud State Baseball against conference opponent University of Mary set a season-high in runs on 15 hits in route to a 13-3 victory in seven innings on Sunday in Colorado Springs. St. Cloud went 8-for-17 with runners on base led by redshirt junior Sam Riola (5-for-5, 2 HR, 3B, 2B, 3 RBI, 5 R, 2 SB) who had a career day as a Husky and redshirt junior Drew Bulson (2-for-4, 2-Run HR, 3B, 4 RBI) had a career-high four RBI.
The Huskies got their longest outing of the year by starter redshirt junior Riley Ahern (5.0, 5 H, 3 ER, 2 BB, 7 K's), who earned the victory in his first start of the season. Nick Brauns (1.2, H) and Jack Habeck (0.1) finished the game in relief in the second win of the season for St. Cloud State.
KEY MOMENT
The Huskies put up four runs in the bottom of the sixth to blow the game wide open and extend the lead for SCSC to 11-3. That inning was capped off by a two-run home run from Bulson to left center field providing much needed insurance for St. Cloud State.

"Felt great, anytime I can help the team and be as vocal as a leader out there as I can it's always a good thing and it was fun being back out there with the boys."
What was working for him at the plate?
"I was just trying to slow the game down... and when the game slowed down, you can control that then it's really easy to hit the ball, and today I was fortunate to do that."

- Redshirt sophomore Tate Wallat (3-for-4, 2 R, 2B, 3 RBI) had his second straight multi-hit game in Colorado Springs.
- Freshman Ethan Navratil (2-for-3, 2B, 2 R, 2 RBI) barreled up two doubles in his first start in the cleanup spot.
- Senior Paul Steffensen (2-for-4, R) added a couple singles to the 15-hit effort for St. Cloud State.
- For the second straight game, Riola hit a pair of home runs in the game.
- The Huskies finished with a nine extra base hits out of their 15 on the afternoon.
