Rittenhouse moves over from the Dual Enrollment Office at SCSU
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Interim Director of Athletics Holly Schreiner has hired Abby Rittenhouse as the Assistant Athletics Director of Compliance and Student Services, as announced on Wednesday. Rittenhouse, who will officially begin her duties on September 28, joins St. Cloud State after two years in the Dual Enrollment Office at St. Cloud State University.
In her role, Rittenhouse will ensure the St. Cloud State athletic department is compliant with the NCAA, its conference membership organizations, as well as institutional and federal rules and regulations. She will also oversee the Huskies' student services area, including an emphasis in academic advising.
"I could not be more excited to be adding Abby to our staff," said Schreiner. "Abby's background in coaching and advising make her the ideal fit for this position. We are looking forward to having Abby elevate our compliance procedures and academic advising."
"I am absolutely thrilled to join the Athletic Department as the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance and Student Services," said Rittenhouse. "I would like to thank Holly Schreiner for this opportunity and the search committee for their time and efforts throughout the search process. I can't wait to get started and look forward to supporting our student-athletes, coaches, and staff. Go Huskies!"
Over the last two years, Abby Rittenhouse, formerly Rasmussen, has worked in the Dual Enrollment Office as an Admissions Counselor (July 2020 – April 2022) and the Associate Director (April 2022 – September 2022). As an admissions counselor, Rittenhouse promoted a positive student experience through recruitment and engagement activities, facilitated academic advising appointments for new and returning students and communicated and worked effectively with external concurrent enrollment stakeholders and partners. In April, Rittenhouse was promoted to Associate Director, where she recommended and executed standard operating procedures to lead the daily operations while supervising counselors, graduate assistants and student workers.
Since 2017, Rittenhouse has been a volunteer assistant coach for the Huskies Swim & Dive program, where she assisted in coaching, recruiting and academic monitoring of the program. While on staff, the Huskies have won two conference championships, as the women won Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference championships in 2019 and 2020.
From 2018-20, Rittenhouse was an Academic Advisor Graduate Assistant for the Herberger Business School at SCSU where she provided academic services for undergraduate students majoring in business. Prior to her time at SCSU, Rittenhouse spent three years as an Executive Team Leader at various Target locations.
Originally from Sauk Rapids, Minn., Rittenhouse is a two-time graduate of St. Cloud State University, graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Management in 2015 and a Master's of Business Administration in 2020. As a member of the Huskies swim and dive program, Rittenhouse was a two-time captain and 10-time All-American, earning top national finishes in the 100 backstroke (2012-15), 200 medley relay (2013-15) and 400 medley relay (2013-15).
Rittenhouse and her husband, Dustin, reside in St. Cloud with their goldendoodle Benji.
