
St. Cloud State Women’s Soccer Downs Minnesota Crookston, Clinches NSIC Championship

Huskies beat Golden Eagles 6-0, win first conference title in program history
Sophomore forward Ellie Primerano (Saint Joseph, Mich.) and sophomore midfielder Brooke Quam (Lakeville, Minn.) led the offensive charge for the Huskies in the victory, as Primerano scored two goals and had two assists for six points, while Quam added a goal and three assists for five points. The Huskies six goals scored are the most in a game since scoring seven in a 7-0 win over Minnesota Crookston on Sept. 14, 2008.
TURNING POINT
St. Cloud State scored in the ninth minute of the game after junior forward Krysten Schuster (Beamsville, Ontario) found the back of the net off assists from Primerano and Quam and the Huskies were off and running. The Primerano-Quam duo would team up for the next two goals, with Primerano scoring in the 20th and 55th minutes of the game to make the score 3-0. SCSU would tack on another in the 76th minute and a pair of goals in the final two minutes of the game to close the scoring at 6-0.

- Primerano led the way with a six-point game and her first career two-goal game.
- Quam became just the ninth Husky to record three or more assists in a game with her five-point game.
- Freshman forward Linsey Trapino (Verona, Wis.) had a goal and assist for three points in the game.
- St. Cloud State clinched the NSIC Regular Season Championship with its win over UMC, its first conference championship in program history. The Huskies finished the conference regular season with 32 points (10-2-2), finishing one point ahead of Minnesota State (31 points, 9-1-4)
- With the win, St. Cloud State improves to 20-0-1 all-time against Minnesota Crookston.
- The Huskies six goals in the game are its most scored in 15 years when they scored seven in a 7-0 win over Minnesota Crookston on Sept. 14, 2008.
- With the win, SCSU matches program records for most victories in a season (13, 1995) and conference wins in a season (10, 2019).
- SCSU set numerous season single-game highs in the victory, including points (20), goals (six), assists (eight), shots (34), shots on goal (19) and corner kicks (19).
- With six points in the game (2g/2a), Primerano became the 17th player in program history to record six or more points in a game and the first since Maria Kass did so in 2016. Her six points put her in a 13-way tie for the fifth-most points in a single game in program history.
- Primerano's pair of goals marks her first career multi-goal game.
- Quam had three assists in the game, becoming the ninth player in program history to record three or more assists in the game and the first since 2008 when Chelsey Scheller recorded four assists.
- Primerano and Quam both have recorded eight assists on the season, which lead the NSIC and rank seventh all-time in a single season in program history. Primerano's 11 career assists rank eighth on the career program top-10 list.
- Freshman goalie Jaylee Strickland (Columbus, Ohio) recorded seventh shutout on the season, a mark which ranks fourth on the season top-10 list and eighth on the career top-10 list.

St. Cloud State will now move to the NSIC Tournament, where it will host a first-round match at Husky Stadium on Monday, Nov. 6 at 2:00 p.m. CT. The Huskies first-round opponent will be determined after all NSIC regular season games conclude.
