ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Baseball and Softball hosted their annual community day for the St. Cloud Miracle League this week, hosting area organizations providing opportunities for all to enjoy baseball and softball.
"We're so thankful for our connection with the Miracle League," said SCSU Baseball head coach Pat Dolan, "Our community values supporting our programs here at St. Cloud State and this is such a valued way that we can give back to the area. It's always a special day for our players to be themselves and have some fun playing these sports we love so much – we love providing opportunities for everyone in our Husky family to have a great day of baseball and softball!"
The day included a variety of training sessions and games for players from Granite City Special Olympics, J & J Holmes and the Central Minnesota Miracle League hosted in the climate-controlled Husky Dome on February 1. Following the event, the Huskies hosted a pizza party with an autograph session.
"This is such a great way for our program to keep giving back to the St. Cloud community," said SCSU Softball head coach Mitch Roberts, "Seeing our players light up and invest in providing opportunities for everyone to play our sport is such an incredible moment. We're already looking forward to the next time we get to share the field with our Miracle League teammates!"
