
No. 11 St. Cloud State Women’s Hockey Improves to 5-0 with Win over Bemidji State

Sauriol scores shorthanded goal, Ahola notches 10th career shutout
BEMIDJI, Minn. – No. 11 St. Cloud State (5-0-0, 1-0-0 WCHA) pulled out a 1-0 victory over Bemidji State (0-5-0, 0-1-0 WCHA) in its conference opener on Friday in Bemidji. Sophomore forward Alice Sauriol (Sherbrooke, Quebec) provided the game's only goal with a shorthanded score, while fifth-year goaltender Sanni Ahola (Helsinki, Finland) made 13 saves for her second shutout this season.
Sauriol's game-winning score came at the start of a Bemidji State power play in the second period, as the puck was able to sneak past a Beaver defender at the blue line. The Husky sophomore then beat everyone to the puck and had a clean breakaway, beating the goaltender near side for the score.
