Huskies fall to Ohio State 5-1 in series opener
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – No. 11/10 St. Cloud State Women's Hockey (6-1-0, 2-1-0 Western Collegiate Hockey Association) dropped its first game of the season on Friday night in the series opener against No. 2 Ohio State (6-2-1, 4-2-1 WCHA), 5-1, at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center in St. Cloud.

- Senior defender Grace Wolfe (Owatonna, Minn.) scored the Huskies lone goal and her first of the season and blocked a game-high four shots.
- Fifth year goaltender Sanni Ahola (Helsinki, Finland) totaled a season-high 42 saves.
- SCSU is now 32-62-11 all-time against the Ohio State and have dropped four against the Buckeyes.
- The Huskies program record 6-0 start came to an end.
- SCSU's penalty kill went 5-for-5, allowing its first power play goal of the season. For the season, the Huskies PK is 23-for-24 (.958) and PP is 6-for-17 (.353).
- The Buckeyes led the game in shots on goal (47-10) and faceoffs won (32-17). SCSU led in saves (42-9) and blocked shots (17-2).
- Wolfe scored her first goal of the season and the sixth of her career. The goal was also her first career power play goal and marked the 30th point of her career. Her four blocked shots were a season high and the most since she tallied six against Minnesota State on Oct. 28, 2023.
- Ahola made the most saves in a game (42) since December 1, 2023 at Ohio State when she made 46 saves.
- Fifth year forward Emma Gentry (Alpena, Mich.) and junior defender Regan Bulger (Yellowknife, Northwest Territories) each recorded an assist on Wolfe's goal. It was Bulgers first point of the season and fifth point/assist of her career.
- Fifth year forward Brieja Parent (Forest Lake, Minn.) led the Huskies with eight faceoff wins.
- Sophomore forward Alice Sauriol (Sherbrooke, Quebec) and Ella Anick (Hermantown, Minn.) each blocked three shots.
