St. Cloud State Women’s Soccer Closes Regular Season with Minnesota Crookston

Huskies face Golden Eagles on Thursday at Husky Stadium
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Women's Soccer (10-2-5, 7-1-5 NSIC) will close the regular season by hosting Minnesota Crookston (1-14-2, 1-11-1 NSIC) on Thursday, Nov. 7. The Huskies and Golden Eagles will kick off at 2:00 p.m. CT at Husky Stadium.
With only one game remaining in the regular season, the Huskies currently sit in fourth place in the NSIC Standings with 26 points, trailing Minnesota State (12-1-5, 11-0-3), Concordia-St. Paul (11-3-3, 9-3-1 NSIC) and Augustana (9-4-4, 8-2-3 NSIC). The Huskies will need a win to clinch home-field advantage in the NSIC Quarterfinals, which are set to take place Monday, Nov. 11.

SERIES HISTORY
SCSU has never lost to Minnesota Crookston, as it holds a 20-0-1 advantage in the all-time series between the two schools. Last season, SCSU beat Minnesota Crookston, 6-0 on Nov. 2 to clinch the first conference championship in program history. The Huskies' six goals were the most its scored in 15 years.
REGIONAL RANKINGS
In the second set of NCAA Women's Soccer Regional Rankings, St. Cloud State was ranked No. 6 in the central region. The Huskies are one of 10 teams ranked in the top-10, with Minnesota State ranking third, Concordia-St. Paul at seventh and Augustana at 10th. Last season, the Huskies earned the No. 3 spot in the NCAA Central Regional Tournament, its first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance.
PROGRAM MILESTONES
The Huskies current unbeaten streak sits at 10 consecutive games, setting a new program record. The previous streaks of nine unbeaten games occurred during the 1995, 2011 and 2023 seasons. The Huskies are now 5-0-5 in their last nine games and 10-1-5 in their last 12. SCSU reached 10 wins for the second consecutive season and seventh season overall. It marks the first time since 2010-11 that they have recorded back-to-back season with 10+ wins.
CASE FOR ALL-NSIC
Among many Huskies, junior forward Ellie Primerano (St. Joseph, Mich.) and sophomore forward Linsey Trapino (Verona, Wis.) have led the way offensively all season for the Huskies, making their bid for All-NSIC selections. Each of them rank in the NSIC's top-10 in goals, game-winning goals and points this season. Primerano leads the conference in game-winning goals (three) while ranking fourth in goals (six) and fifth in points (15). Trapino also leads the NSIC in game-winning goals (three), while ranking ninth in goals (five) and 12th in points (12).
Primerano was named the NSIC Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 23 after scoring in both games of SCSU's weekend sweep over Minnesota Duluth (2-1, Sept. 20) and Bemidji State (2-1, Sept. 22). It marked the third time in her career she has earned the conference weekly honor after winning it twice as a sophomore in 2023. Primerano scored two goals and added an assist for a five-point weekend, as she also extended her goal streak to three consecutive games and had the game-winning goal in Sunday's win over the Beavers. She helped extend SCSU's win streak to nine over UMD, while helping the Huskies beat the Beavers for the first time since Nov. 13, 2019. Her five-point weekend helped her become the 22nd player in program history to reach 25 career points, as she now ranks 12th all-time with 34 career points (10g/14a).
Trapino netted her fourth goal of the season in a 4-0 win over MSU Moorhead on Oct. 18, as she became the 23rd Husky to reach 25 career points, now ranking 18th with 29 points (12g/5a). In just 35 games, Trapino has already registered seven game-winning goals, a mark which ranks fourth on the all-time SCSU list.
ORHAM EXCELLING IN NET
Redshirt junior goalkeeper Meriel Orham (St. Michael, Minn.) has made the most of her opportunity in the net for the Huskies this season, playing every game this season and recording an 10-2-5 mark on the season. She has recorded six shutouts this season against Roosevelt (Sept. 13), Parkside (three saves, Sept. 15), Wayne State (four saves, Sept. 29), Concordia-St. Paul (three saves, Oct. 4), MSU Moorhead (Oct. 18) and SMSU (four saves, Oct. 25).
On the season, Orham is 10-2-5 with a 0.65 goals-against-average, .828 save percentage and five shutouts. Her GAA would set a new program season record, while her six shutouts and 10 wins currently rank fifth and seventh, respectively, among all Huskies.
