
St. Cloud State Women’s Soccer Beats Minnesota Crookston 4-0 to Close Regular Season

Three Huskies score first career goals, Orham logs seventh shutout of season
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Women's Soccer (11-2-5, 8-1-5 NSIC) ended the regular season with a 4-0 win over Minnesota Crookston (1-15-2, 1-13-1 NSIC) on Thursday afternoon in St. Cloud. The Huskies had four different players score goals in the game, including three who scored their first career goals.
With the win, SCSU clinched homefield advantage for the NSIC Quarterfinals, which is set for Monday, Nov. 11.
TURNING POINT
SCSU jumped out to an early 1-0 lead with sophomore forward Zoey Fanter (Norwalk, Iowa) finding the back of the net in the sixth minute off an assist from junior midfielder Brooke Quam (Lakeville, Minn.). Freshman forward Delaney Weier (Madison, Wis.) then doubled SCSU's lead to 2-1 in the 33rd minute. In the second half, sophomore midfielder Cady Compton (Ankeny, Iowa) and senior forward Krysten Schuster (Beamsville, Ontario) added to the Huskies lead with goals to cap the scoring at 4-0.

SCSU will next play in the NSIC Quarterfinals on Monday, Nov. 11 with its opponent TBD. The game will start at 2:00 p.m. CT on the NSIC Network. It marks just the third time in program history (2009 and 2023) the Huskies have hosted an NSIC Quarterfinals game.

- The Huskies unbeaten streak moves to 11 consecutive games, improving its program record and surpassing the previous record of nine set in 1995, 2011 and 2023.
- The Huskies are now 6-0-5 in its last 11 games, with its last defeat coming on Sept. 27 against Augustana (1-0).
- SCSU led the shots on goal, 15-0 and corner kicks, 15-0.
- The Huskies' back line held the Golden Eagles to zero shots on goal, marking the fourth time this season they have held their opponents to no shots on goal.
- Fanter, Weier and Compton all scored their first career goals in the game, while Schuster netted her first goal of the season.
- Orham's seven shutouts this season are tied for the fifth-most in a season in program history.
- Freshman forward Abby Kavanagh (Marine on Saint Croix, Minn.) recorded her first career assist on Schuster's goal.
