
No. 8 Minnesota-Duluth Shuts Out No. 10 St. Cloud State

DULUTH, Minn. — The St. Cloud State women's hockey team (17-16-2, 12-15-2 WCHA) got shut out by a score of 5-0 on Friday night versus No. 8 Minnesota-Duluth (19-12-4, 16-11-2 WCHA) in the first game of the WCHA playoffs.
The game was scoreless after 20 minutes of play but the score changed in the opening minutes of the middle frame. Reece Hunt would score at the 2:38 mark of the second period. Following Hunt's goal, it was all Bulldogs from there.
The Bulldogs took control in almost every aspect of game one. They outs hot the Huskies 39-20, went 34-and-16 in the faceoff circle, and blocked 8 shots. The Bulldogs went three-for-three on the penalty kill. Sanni Ahola (Helsinki, Finland) stopped 34 shots faced.
