Huskies score five runs in the final four innings, unable to complete comeback against Golden Bears

CONSOLATION ROUND – CSP 6, SCSU 5
CSP jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the fourth inning, adding on with one-run innings in the sixth and seventh innings. Down by as many as five runs, the Huskies found an answer with two outs in the bottom of the sixth when redshirt senior Noah Dehne (St. Paul, Minn.) hit his second home run in as many days after a walk from senior Drew Beier (Foley, Minn.) to cut the deficit to three runs. The Huskies got as close as one run over the final three innings with RBI singles from junior Ethan Navratil (Albany, Minn.) and redshirt junior Garrett Bevacqua (Carlsbad, Calif.), and with a sacrifice fly from junior Blaine Guthrie (Emerald, Wisc.).
Senior Peyton Van Beck (Elrosa, Minn.) made his 11th start of the season and continued to be a reliable option, striking out two batters over four innings, giving up four runs. Van Beck finished his senior season with a 3.97 ERA and 56 strikeouts over 65.2 innings. Senior Jack Habeck (Appleton, Wisc.) came on in relief in the fifth inning and capped off a memorable Husky career with five innings pitched, giving up two runs but striking out four batters.
