Strickland recorded back-to-back shutouts against Sioux Falls and Southwest Minnesota State
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Women's Soccer redshirt sophomore Jaylee Strickland (Columbus, Ohio) was named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Goalkeeper of the Week, as announced by the league on Monday. Strickland posted six saves in shutouts against Sioux Falls and Southwest Minnesota State over the weekend while SCSU matched a program record for consecutive saves.
Her NSIC weekly honor is the first time in her career she has been named the NSIC Goalkeeper of the Week.
Strickland made three saves each against Sioux Falls (0-0, Oct. 3) and Southwest Minnesota State (2-0, Oct. 5) to record her fifth and sixth shutouts of the season. The blank sheets give SCSU five straight shutouts, which matches a program record for most consecutive shutouts, pulling even with the five consecutive shutout victories from Nov. 1 – Nov. 13, 2019. Strickland and the Huskies have now held their opponents scoreless for 481 consecutive minutes. The win also pushes SCSU's unbeaten streak to nine to start the 2025 campaign, extending its program-record best start to a season.
Strickland's six shutouts this season gives her 14th career blank sheets as she moves into fifth place in program history in career shutouts, surpassing Evie Kohn (13, 2019-22). Among NSIC leaders this season, Strickland ranks second in shutouts (six), goals-against average (0.35) and save percentage (.912).
