Macdonald Earns 100th Win in Huskies’ 4-1 Win over Wayne State

Primerano scores two goals and five points to help Macdonald earn 100th career victory
ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – St. Cloud State Women's Soccer (11-1-4, 9-1-3 NSIC) scored three first-half goals in a 4-1 win over Wayne State (6-6-4, 5-6-2 NSIC) on Friday at the CSB Soccer Field in St. Joseph, Minn. Senior forward Ellie Primerano (St. Joseph, Mich.) led the way offensively for the Huskies with two goals and an assist. With the win, head coach Gretta Macdonald earned her 100th career win
TURNING POINT
SCSU scored in the 18th minute off a deflection from sophomore forward Gabby Hofeld (St. Paul, Minn.) on a pass into the box from Primerano to take a 1-0 lead. The Huskies then really took control of the game in the 27th minute when Primerano scored twice in 43 seconds, both on assists from senior midfielder Brooke Quam (Lakeville, Minn.).
The Huskies added onto their lead in the first minute of the second half when junior forward Linsey Trapino (Verona, Wis.) scored to make the score 4-0.

SCSU will host Augustana for its regular season home finale on Sunday, Nov. 2 at 1:00 p.m. CT at the CSB Outdoor Athletic Complex in St. Joseph, Minn.

- Macdonald recorded her 100th career victory in the win. In her 12th season as head coach, Macdonald is already the program's longest tenured and winningest coach at 100-70-35 (.571).
- Primerano matched a single game career-high with two goals, matching her mark from Nov. 2, 2023, against Minnesota Crookston. Her two goals give her 17 career goals, which ranks 10th all-time in program history. Her first goal was also the game-winning goal, her fourth of the season to move to second on the single season program list.
- With five points (2g/1), Primerano moved to sixth place on SCSU's all-time scoring list with 52 points (17g/18).
- Trapino scored her sixth goal of the season and her 18th goal of her career to move to eighth on the single season program list.
- Quam recorded two assists to move to second all-time in program history with 21 assists, matching Chris Fleischer (1995-99).
- Hofeld scored her first goal of the season and third of her career.
- Senior defender Ella Clow (Minneapolis, Minn.) recorded her first career point with an assist on Trapino's goal.
